Luxury Sustainable Art NZ | Botanical Wall Sculpture – Lavender Day by Lisa Watkins.
Some artworks ask for attention.
Others quietly change the way a room feels.
Lavender Day is one of those pieces.
Built from reclaimed acrylic, salvaged materials, layered colour fragments, and historic piano wire, this sustainable botanical wall art NZ piece captures a moment of lightness — something vibrant, unexpected, and quietly uplifting.
At first glance, the work appears as a joyful floral composition unfolding across a soft lavender field. Colour dances across the surface. Petals seem to float. The piece feels playful, optimistic, and alive.
The closer you move, the more stories begin to emerge.
Petals are formed from old magazines, melted CD cases, and rescued balloon fragments embedded within resin. Fragments of printed text remain visible beneath the surface — partially hidden, partially revealed — creating a quiet conversation between memory, language, and transformation.
The stems carry a remarkable history of their own.
Constructed from reclaimed wire taken from a Jacob and Sons grand piano built in New York over a century ago during the Great Depression, these delicate lines once held tension for music. Today, they hold something different — carrying that same history forward into a new form.
What makes this piece special is not simply the materials themselves, but what they represent.
A belief that beauty can emerge from overlooked things.
A belief that stories continue.
A belief that joy matters.
Through Circular Elevation, discarded materials are transformed into a sculptural botanical composition where every fragment carries a past life and a new purpose. The result is a work that feels both contemporary and deeply human.
Designed as a statement piece, Lavender Day brings colour, movement, and warmth into a space. It catches changing light throughout the day, rewards repeated viewing, and creates an immediate sense of energy without overwhelming a room.
This is artwork designed to be lived with.
The kind of piece that greets you when you walk into a room.
The kind of piece that continues revealing new details over time.
The kind of piece that quietly reminds you that possibility exists everywhere.
Joyful, complex, and materially rich, Lavender Day sits at the intersection of memory, transformation, and hope.
