It gives me instant happiness.
The yellows remind me of the brightest flower centres at the height of summer. They bring an energy that feels warm, optimistic and full of possibility.
Running through them are playful contemporary marks and expressive squiggles. For me, they represent a busy mind filled with ideas, projects and possibilities. There is excitement in that energy, but there is also noise.
Holding everything together are the bold geometric forms.
They create balance.
They calm me.
They remind me that even when life feels full, there can still be rhythm, order and space to breathe.
One of the things I love most about art is that not everyone will see the same thing.
That's exactly as it should be.

Created from reclaimed commercial signage, layered acrylic and finished with luminous resin, Golden Botanicals forms part of my Sign of the Times series. Once-functional materials are reimagined into a contemporary botanical composition that celebrates colour, curiosity and possibility. As light moves across the glossy surface, reflections shift throughout the day, allowing the artwork to continually evolve within its surroundings.
