Love remains — even when everything around it distorts.
Sign of the Times III
Distorted Love is a monumental wall sculpture created from reclaimed commercial signage offcuts, salvaged acrylic, and a high-gloss resin finish.
The composition unfolds as a fractured gold landscape — shards, curves, and mirrored planes colliding in a chaotic tangle of shape and reflection. At its centre, a bold red heart glows through the disruption, suspended inside a world that bends, distorts, and reshapes everything around it.
As viewers move, the surface reflects them back — warped, fragmented, never fixed. Reality shifts. Nothing sits still. The heart remains visible, but never the same way twice — a powerful metaphor for love under pressure, filtered through modern expectations, emotional noise, and constant distortion.
Crafted entirely from discarded commercial signage and acrylic offcuts, Distorted Love transforms industrial waste into an emotionally charged contemporary statement. Its scale, weight, and complexity place it firmly as a defining major work within Lisa Watkins’ Sign of the Times series — raw, honest, beautifully unstable, and unmistakably now.
