The Perfumery is an upcycled sculptural wall work created from repurposed perfume bottles, old wire, acrylic, resin and a reclaimed canvas. Familiar objects once associated with scent, memory and ritual are reassembled into a delicate, altar-like form — part shrine, part still life.
Suspended on a simple wire armature, the bottles evoke ideas of balance, offering and display, referencing both domestic rituals and the quiet choreography of objects we keep close. Their glossy surfaces and jewel-like tones contrast with the rawness of reused materials, transforming discarded fragments into something contemplative and quietly celebratory.
This work reflects Lisa Watkins’ ongoing practice of community-led upcycling — finding beauty in what is overlooked, worn, or finished with its original purpose, and reshaping it into art that speaks to care, memory, and emotional connection.
